God is slow to anger.

The LORD, the LORD,
the compassionate and gracious God,
slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness
Exodus 34:6b niv

So often we shrink back from approaching God because we are afraid of his anger toward us.  We know that we have “missed the mark” of holiness.  But, God described himself as “slow to anger” many, many years before Jesus came and paid for our sins…and now that all his righteous judgment has been satisfied by Jesus’ death on the cross we need not fear the wrath of God.  We can approach Him boldly.

Prayer: Lord, thank You that we can approach You boldly and unafraid. (Hebrews 4:16)
